Labor Day Weekend and Catching Up

It's been a while since our last post...so we have some catching up to do! Starting back a few weeks ago... we had a weekend full of birthday parties. Our first party was for Miss Emma, it was rock start themed and Aidan and his friend Ryan were the only boys there :) but we had a blast!

Our second birthday party of the weekend was for little man Timothy who turned one! He is a cutie and we had so much fun celebrating with him :)

Aidan has really been into drawing for the past few months and he drew this picture for Daddy a couple weeks ago. Can you tell what it is? It's daddy catching a shark. See the fishing pole :) He is such a talented little artist!

The next weekend we had another birthday party to attend for our friend Elliott who turned 2! I didn't take any pictures :( but Aidan and I had a blast at his water party! Daddy, Uncle Dane, and Poppa Shish went to Bristol that weekend, so it was just Mommy and Aidan all weekend long! We had fun at Elliot's birthday party, had a play date with our friend Addy and Avery and even went on a Mommy/ Son date :) Love my little man! We had a great weekend, but we sure were happy to see Daddy when he got home!

We have been working on decorating Aidan's bedroom these past couple of weeks. Here is a picture of Aidan painting letters of his name.

Not so great of a picture, but Daddy cut out a shark, a whale, and some fish, then Aidan and Mommy painted them to match his comforter. I think he has enough

Last Tuesday Aidan had his second ever dentist appointment. Let's just say that it was pretty rough. It took four people to hold him down during the cleaning and this was after a lot of conversation about how it didn't hurt and that it was a good thing to get his teeth cleaned and checked. Also I tried my best to prepare him before we even had the appointment. He did NOT like it one bit! However after the cleaning was over and the dentist came in to check his teeth he did absolutely fine. Everyone laughed because they brought in all the helpers again to hold him down and he just laid back and did everything he was asked to do :) He ended up having two cavities and we have to go back in a few weeks to get them filled. Prayers please!

This past weekend was Labor Day weekend and Mom-Mom and Poppa came to visit!!! We were all SUPER excited to see them! They came in Thursday night and on Friday we made our way down to the city to visit Lego Land. Aidan didn't really care for it much, we all agreed that it was definitely more of an older kid place. We had a good time but probably won't go back for a while. Aidan's favorite part was getting two new sets of Legos at the end :)

Saturday morning Mommy and Poppa went for a run. I ran 12 miles! Yeah, I know I'm crazy but my half marathon is only 11 days away! After our run we all headed to a local donut shop and got a treat of donuts! They were yummy :)

After eating our donuts, Mommy and Mom-Mom went to get a pedicure and have some girl time while Daddy, Poppa, and Aidan went golfing. Saturday night Mom-Mom and Poppa watched Aidan while Mommy and Daddy had a date night. We had such a fun night and I imagine that Aidan did too :)

Sunday morning we all went to church and went to lunch afterwards. That afternoon Poppa and Daddy went to play golf again...while Aidan, Mom-Mom and Mommy went back to the nail salon so that Mommy could get her nails done with my friend Lyndsay. Aidan and Mom-Mom had fun together wasting time waiting for Mommy :) That night we all went to the Cheesecake Factory and had some appetizers and cheesecake, of course! It was Delicious!!

Labor Day morning Mommy and Poppa got up early and ran the Labor Day 10K for Autism. We had a fun but exhausting time running our first 10k together. Poppa met his goal of running it in an hour and I got first place in my age group. All in all, it was a successful morning!

We just hung out the rest of the day and grilled out for dinner. Mommy, Mom-Mom and Aidan made a cake for desert. It was good :)

This morning we all woke up and got around, then headed to IHOP for some brunch/lunch. Afterwards we took Aidan to get his hair cut then we had to take Mom-Mom and Poppa back to the airport to go back to AR :( Aidan and I cried for about 10 mins in the car after we dropped them off. We had a great weekend and were bummed to see them leave. I would like to say it is getting easier but it is still pretty hard on us. Hope to one day, soon,  live close to each other again. Until then we will take advantage of Skype!

Tomorrow morning is Aidan's first day of Pre-K :( Can't believe this is his last year before Kindergarten. Our baby is really growing up!
