Since the last blog post we have kept pretty busy. So for this post I've mostly just posted pictures and a few sentences with each. It would take me forever if I went into detail about the past week and a half!
Last weekend we Trent and Aidan made a little garden in our backyard.
This is a Shish and Aidan project so mommy doesn't have to do anything but
enjoy yummy veggies once they have grown :)
Our garden will (hopefully) produce some tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash
in a couple months.
At our new house bunnies are everywhere! Back behind the house is some brush and
we are pretty sure they live up on the hill. We see them everyday. Aidan loves it!
Last week Shish (with a little help from momma) painted our living room. It was
a big undertaking! (Will try to post some pictures of our house soon)
Aidan really wanted to help so Shish gave him a little paintbrush and he decided
to paint his name on the wall :) Love my stinker!
Last Thursday we visited our good friends Jack and his mommy at their new house!
We tried to go swimming but the lock on the door wasn't working, so
we decided to get out the water hose and the boys had just as much fun playing
with it!
This past Monday Aidan and I went on a hike with some good friends of ours.
We hiked up a mountain that is in our town where there are two seperate
entrances to the mountain to hike up. Well we decided on one and on the way
up we realized it was the longer side...we ended up hiking 5 miles, with a 5 year old,
a 4 year old and a 3 year old! They did great but we were all exhausted after
the long trek :)
Here they are checking out a little turtle on the side of the trail.
Wednesday we went and swam with some friends of ours, and then that night Aidan had his awards
ceremony for Awanas. It was kind of bittersweet because this was the
first awards ceremony for our family and I know there are many more to come...
it makes me realize just how fast my little man is growing up!
He was super nervous to walk across the stage to get his award. But he did it, with a little help from
the program leader :)
So proud of our big man for doing such a great job this year memorizing his
short Bible verses and being such a big boy! Awanas is such a great program
and it is so great to see Aidan growing in the Lord.
After the awards ceremony we had a celebratory dinner at Chick-fil-a (Aidan's choice) and we all got
ice cream for desert :)
My big man with his certificate for completing his first year of Cubbies
Tuesday at school, Aidan's class had a color party. I was in charge of the cupcakes and found this really cool idea on Pinterest to make tie dye cupcakes. Here is the inside
of one of the cupcakes that Aidan had for a snack :)
This past Thursday afternoon was the last day of pre-preschool for Aidan.
The school we have found in Atlanta has been so great for Aidan, he loves his teachers
and he has done so great! Summer break officially began Thursday afternoon at 1!
Friday night we had a cook out with some really good friends of ours from Sunday school
and we had such a great time! And while we were there we met their neighbors who are from the same area
of NW Arkansas that we are from. It is sometimes such a small world! And it's
always nice to meet some fellow Razorback fans :)
Saturday morning we headed to a local inflatable play place for Aidan's friend Addy's birthday.
It was a fun party and Aidan had so much fun playing with his friends and running
around like a crazy person :)
Saturday some friends of our's came over with their son Elliot. He is such a sweetheart and Aidan
had so much fun playing with him!
We went to church this morning and just hung out for the rest of the day. It's so nice having a long weekend but it is so important to remember why we are celebrating. Not only should we remember those who have fought for our freedom but also those in our lives who have passed on. It is great having barbecues and celebrating the beginning of summer but it is important to celebrate those who have fought for this country so that we can enjoy the wonderful blessings that we have in freedom.
Last Friday Aidan had his check up on his eyes after a month of wearing the patch. Unfortunately the patches did not do what we were hoping they would and we go back in a month for the doctor to get some more measurements and to schedule surgery to fix Aidan's eyes. It was difficult to hear that our son will need surgery but Trent and I both know that is in Aidan's best interest to have it done, so that he will not have future complications. Prayers are always welcomed.
This is just a really cool picture that Trent took on his way to
softball practice. It's the end of a rainbow! How awesome is that?! It's amazing to be
reminded of God's promises and how beautiful his art work is.
"I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is a sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth."
Genesis 9:13
