After the fun times we had with Halloween Aidan seemed to have some withdrawal issues, he kept insisting that it was still Halloween time and not Thanksgiving :) The weekend before Thanksgiving we all jumped in the jeep and headed to Monticello Arkansas to see Mom-mom, Poppa, and Sis-sis (who we hadn't seen since the end of July). We made it to Monticello where Ariel goes to school and plays basketball (go Cotton Blossoms!) late Thursday night and Sis-sis was able to come over for a little bit and visit us at the bed and breakfast. On Friday we hung out with Sis-sis until mom-mom and poppa made it down from Pea Ridge. Then that afternoon Mom, Ariel and I got to go see Breaking Dawn (woo hoo!), it was pretty awesome. Then on Saturday Mom and I spent the majority of the morning and afternoon in Ariel's kitchen making our early Thanksgiving meal. It was pretty tasty! Except for the fact that I burnt the pumpkin cake just a little :) We also celebrated Poppa's birthday that night and just relaxed and spent some family time together. On Sunday we headed back to Atlanta for a few days before we headed out on our next adventure.
The week of Thanksgiving I was out of school and Aidan only had school on Monday. Wednesday Trent got to leave work a little early and we took advantage of it by putting up our first family Christmas tree and other decorations.
Our first family Christmas Tree!
We got up Thanksgiving day and packed up the rest of our stuff for our trip to Kentucky, then we headed out. We got to Kentucky in about 5 and a half hours and met Papaw, Jan, Aunt Jenn, Uncle Brian, Anna, and Holly for a Thanksgiving meal at Cracker Barrel :) We got to stay at Brian and Jenn's and the next morning we headed out to get our Christmas pictures taken my Jenn (she is awesome!). The pictures turned out great and we were able to bribe Aidan with a huge sucker we got the night before at Cracker Barrel and it worked because he did so great and we were able to get some really good pictures!
My two favorite boys!
When I look at these pictures of Aidan it just reminds me how blessed we are that God gave him to us. Plus he is the cutest boy in the whole wide world!!!
Blue Eyes!
Shish and Aidan
I love this picture because it is so natural and perfect!
Best Friends :)
These two pictures were so fun to take! We were laughing so hard. (Check out how high Trent got off the ground...he's got some skill ;)
Found a stick!
And some rocks...he loves throwing rocks into the creek. (Nice action shot from Jenn Jenn)
Love my Aidan boy!
The bridge was so cool!
He was laughing at first but then got a little scared...I love this picture!
He loves his shish!
Another favorite
"Cheese for a sucker" is what he kept saying every time Jenn would take a picture of him. We had to bribe him quite a bit but as you can see it worked!
After taking pictures we headed back to Jenn and Brian's. Trent watched the Arkansas vs. LSU game and I checked in every once in a while on the score. We were pretty bummed with the outcome, but it just goes to show why LSU is the number 1 team. The next day I sat in the kitchen while Jenn did all the work making a Thanksgiving dinner for all of us, but it was really nice because we just got to chat about everything. We had a great meal and a lot of it!
Yummy food!!!
Playing with Anna and Holly
While at Jenn and Brian's we all had such a great time especially Aidan. Anna and Holly were so great playing with him and keeping him entertained along with everyone else! He soaked up all the attention and loved it! On Sunday we were sad to leave but school and work started back up on Monday :(
Now we are back home in Atlanta for a few weeks before we take another road trip to Pea Ridge for Christmas! School ends in a couple weeks and the next few weekends are pretty full including a Christmas train ride, Christmas shopping, and Sunday school Christmas party. We love the Holiday season and are looking so forward to all of the fun events in December! Christmas Eve we will celebrate Trent's birthday and then Christmas Day we will be celebrating our Savior's birthday! Such a great time of the year!
