Well we have all officially been in Atlanta now for about 5 months. It has definitely been an adjustment for all of us, myself especially. Just a few key points about summer before we begin with our fall adventures. Aidan is now officially potty trained and has been since the beginning of June! He started at his new preschool, Little Creek Academy, in July two days a week so mommy could have a little time to herself. We went on many summer adventures including the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, Stone Mountain, and movies under the stars at the Mall of Georgia. We have a pool at our condo so a lot of swimming was done as well! I began my first semester at Georgia State University and Aidan began going to school 3 days a week in the middle of August, he really enjoys school and his teachers are awesome! We really could not have asked for a better place. I am currently only taking two classes and will be going full time next semester; taking the MARTA (Atlanta's public transportation system) has also been an adventure, it was definitely a wake up call to where we now live!
Now onto Fall in Atlanta!
We became members of First Redeemer Church in Cumming, Ga in October. Through FRC we joined a Sunday school class for young families with young children, it has been great for us because we have had the opportunity to make new friends and to get connected. Which is what I was desperately needing!
We also made some new friends at our condo, Aidan has a new bike buddy and I have a new mom to talk to! (Aidan also learned how to ride his bike this summer just in time to make a new friend).
Our first official fall activity in Atlanta was to go to Hobby Lobby and buy some decorations for our condo. I have a feeling that I enjoyed this activity the most. Our next fall adventure was at Burt's Farm, a huge pumpkin patch about an hour and a half north of us up in the mountains (it was such a beautiful ride). At Burt's we took a hayride and picked out our pumpkins, they had a huge selection and it was so much fun picking out our Aidan pumpkin, mommy pumpkin, and shish pumpkin!
There were some big pumpkins!

Next came Halloween, Aidan was a pirate this year and was more than happy to play the part. Our Halloween day started off with Aidan's party at school. We got stuck in traffic (go figure) and were 15 mins late to school but we made it just in time to sing some songs and then go trick or treating around his school. After getting loaded up with candy we went back into class and had a snack of Halloween goodies! Mommy took school off that day so Aidan got to leave school early. We then headed to the park to meet up with our new friend Jack and his mommy for a play date! After a little while at the park and a two hour lunch at Chick-fil-a we were all exhausted and headed back to our condo for a little rest time before our night of Trick or Treating began!

After shish got home and Aidan had his costume on and face painted (Trent was the artist) we headed to Cumming to meet with our friends the Arneys. Aidan got to Trick or Treat with his friend Christian (who is the same age). It was a lot of fun getting to see them walk up to the different doors and repeating over and over again "trick or treat" and then grabbing as much candy as they could before mommy made them stop. After enough house hopping we headed to our church for the Fall Festival. The church had inflatables set up and Aidan and Christian wore themselves out jumping around together! Our first Halloween in Atlanta was a success!

For the next couple of weeks we are just planning on laying low, but in two weeks our traveling will begin! We are going to Monticello to see Aunt Sissy and Mom-mom and Poppa (also the new Twilight movie comes out that weekend!) and to have a mini Thanksgiving dinner and just spend a couple of days hanging out! Then the next week we will be headed up to Kentucky to spend Thanksgiving with our family up there. Jenn is going to take our Christmas pictures and we can't wait to see everybody for Thanksgiving!
Our little family is so blessed and moving to Atlanta has definitely been an adventure and will continue to be! We can't wait to see what God has in store for us and I will try my hardest to keep every body up to speed on our family's many adventures and updates on our new life events!
Love it! I'm so glad yall are here and we have found new friends too! LOVE the pirate and superman pic! :-)
